Appearance: Salamander’s fur is primarily white however the back of its head and around its face is a light, icy blue. This same blue also covers its back, rounding near the base of its tail. The top portion of its tail is also blue. The tip of its tail is black with five, rounded, black rectangles lying over the top. The blue portions of its fur have varying shaped, black, glowing ring-like spots comparable to that of a snow leopard. The insides of its ears are white and the tips are black with a glowing ring just below each. It also has a barcode on its right ear. Its other ear has the number 011 in glowing print. It always has a mask over its face with a transparent, cyan screen in the center. Its eyes are visible through the screen still. Around its arm sockets are metal gray plates and some wiring. Connecting to these are white, lightweight plates along its sides and back. These offer additional support to its internal framework. Its artificial limb arms are far too oversized for the kitty and primarily white in color with a dark blue center sleeve like material. It then widens at the paws reaching almost near its feet.

Its clothing consists of a hoodless, white invader uniform with some glowing design paths. It wears silver equipment; a heavy belt with an equally heavy duty harness and a collar with a single wire. The wire—which connects from the base of the collar—leads to a hole in its back. The wire allows an additional flow of electricity to surge through the mechanical portions of its body to help it support and manage the additional weight it drags around with it.

Personality: Salamander is a pleasant little Qwuedeviv…if things are going its way. In training a lot of the instructors found it to be a nice little kitten as it paid attention and was respectful of the authorities. Most kittens found it boring. It did struggle with worries about its safety after it was injured, but considering the circumstances was still upbeat.

The changes made to its body did not settle particularly well so sometimes it glitches out. During these spells its actions are unpredictable and it often does not remember what happened during said glitches. Occasionally bits of its memory seem to get corrupted, but overall it is still fairly stable.

Although Salamander is very mild and cooperative towards everyone else, it holds some rather hurt feelings towards Smiley and is not at all hospitable towards it. Smiley annoys it unbearably and its entire demeanor changes around the gray Qwuedeviv. Smiley can’t figure out why Salamander dislikes it so much which only seems to upset Salamander even more.

Although not normally a vengeful Qwuedeviv, Salamander has been known to intentionally work its way around Smiley’s commands to infuriate it. It is important to note that Salamander would never do anything that would actually endanger Smiley though—not seriously anyway. Rather it just enjoys frustrating it.

Excessive joking bothers Salamander and furthermore it is not very tolerant of such things directed at it. Granted it doesn’t really do anything beyond show visible irritation. Salamander does tend to be on the serious side and not all that interested in having fun. It is rather short tempered and a bit overly sensitive to comments. Some would describe it as being moody with extreme highs and lows to its disposition. A simple comment could make or break its mood for the entire day—especially a comment from Smiley.

Background: Salamander is a former friend of Smiley’s. Back at the academy, the two kittens were casual friends; went on some of the exploration field trips the class had and could generally always be found around the other. That was until Salamander got hurt one day. Details as to what took place exactly have always been sparse. It is only known that the Qwuedeviv attained extensive damage and was kept home from class.


It developed additional problems and parasites despite the doctors’ efforts, eventually causing irreparable damage. With no other real option—and refusal to accept any help from the Qahrburboxis and Qwujakuhl—the kitten was sent in for experimental biomedical treatment. The whole process took a rather long time, during which its friend never did come visit it.

It turned out that Smiley had mistaken another Qwuedeviv for it and became friends with them instead. Having already grown apart from Smiley, Salamander never bothered to try and rekindle their friendship.

As it stands, Salamander is actually in Smiley’s crew but Smiley did not realize it for an incredibly long time until the rest of its crew brought it to its attention. Salamander has great struggles with its job because its paws are so huge. It was primarily just an oversight of laziness that caused this as Qwuedeviv technology was plenty small enough to be incorporated into a more appropriately sized arm.


Random Facts:
Over the gradual course of many months, the Qwuedeviv was outfitted with artificial equipment and underwent a lot of strenuous changes including intelligence amplification through cybernetics.

Salamander must be assisted with its job as its paws are too large to type on a keyboard.

Salamander usually uses a combination of wireless interface to communicate with computers and voice activation—this allows it to work without need of assistance.

Salamander gets frustrated rather quickly.

Salamander holds quite a bit of resentment towards Smiley, it doesn’t have any problem with Loan Shark though.

Salamander essentially manages all computer work and gathers requested information. Although it is capable of more advanced functions this is all that is commonly asked of it.

If Salamander cannot make a decisive conclusion based on its own intellect it will switch to allowing the integrated ai to help it choose the most logical decision.

Salamander’s arms are rather heavy so the Qwuedeviv often is slouched forward or backward when walking.
